like other newer v-dubs the gti is electronicly limited to a top speed of 130. Take that off and it will easily hit 150 if not higher…
the same time with 200hp against mazdaspeed 260hp!?!?

Mazda 0.5 sec faster than GTI, everything else is fail compared to GTI
@mccelicagt01 i agree mazda is one mean fucking car its by far my favorite car ever made my cousin has a mazdaspeed protege with mods and it tops 200 miles per hour now
what the hell i drive a ‘99 vr6 that had 195hp stock and would hit 150, i love the gti but vw needs to step it up….. this is ridiculous

@430nate Actually it is supposed to run 15.5 psi in third through 6th. First and second run around 8psi and 11psi respectively. My car was only running 12psi because the ECU does not compensate for altitude. With an MBC or tuning you can run full boost in 1st and 2nd and carry more boost closer to redline.

Huge improvement over stock at my altitude (6000ft). Stock I was running 12psi now im running 16. I ran a 14.1@102mph on 16psi. At sea level that’s a low low 13 second run. Stock GTI’s run high 15 low 16 second quarter miles up here. After I install my methanol injection next week (18psi) and run with my new WOT BOX ill be deep into the 13’s. I would like to see a stock turbo GTI run anywhere close to that.

this gti def doesnt only have 200 hp… its almost 30k with that low of hp… i can get a nissan altima for 20k and have more than that… somethings wrong here
My Girl has a MS3. They are real nice, bose, xenons and they smash the GTi in 3rd gear and above. But I went and bought a GTi today anyway!! 5 month wait!!?!?!?

yeah but do the same mods to the speed 3 and it will walk all over the vw even with its tuning mods. autoexe also makes a sweet front bumper that removes the gay smile on the front and makes it look real good. just look at the car and driver lightning lap challenge against any of the gti’s. the old speed 3 and new speed 3 spank both the old and new gti’s.
frustrating to hear the guy talk about the 2.0 on the GTI like it lacks power. One APR flash upgrade and the GTI takes the Mazda hands down. VW just doesn’t run those ECU settings stock to keep the fuel economy high and emissions low. The FSI and TSI both have a ton of power, they’re great engines! VW wins!

I don’t understand why these 2 cars are being compared. The Speed 3 is faster 0-60, faster 1/4 mile and has a faster top speed.

@Devic13 If i had personal issues i would be more then welcome to discuss them. Dont get your panties in a bunch. Mods are mods, and your basically saying the gti is faster only after a mod. well if the speed gets one its the same story. Dont worry, im not defending the speed 3 since i dont like nor own one. But your contradicting yourself so just feel free to stop while your ahead. I know im going to let you have the last word because this frankly does not matter.
